Timbre

A Plaud alternative, with no device to buy

Plaud sells a recorder you carry around, with an app that transcribes and summarizes what it captures. Timbre does that job with the phone you already have: a bubble on screen, you talk, the text writes itself. No gadget to buy, charge, or leave behind in a bag.

What Plaud does better

What Timbre does differently

The cost over a year

With Timbre, a year costs $47.88* on Essential (60 minutes a month), $83.88* on Pro (180 minutes) or $179.88* on Intensive (600 minutes), with nothing to buy. You can stop any month.

With Plaud, you buy the device first: $159 for the Plaud Note. The Starter plan then covers 300 minutes a month; Pro adds $99.99 a year. If you record hours of meetings every week, Plaud costs less per minute. If you dictate a few minutes a day, a year of Timbre costs less than the device alone.
